It leads you into the world of modern finishes that other books cover better. This one is on my permanent bookself of favorites, forever. Some of the stories in the book are a bit far-fetched through; George was a very creative individual according to a teacher I had that knew him well. Its a nice shorter book to read and to learn about the process of creating finishes on wood surfaces from.

Awesome book tons of information for the beginner and pro. I always flip through this book before finishing a job and I consider myself a pretty good finisher. Highly recommended
I like it for what it is, historical with good information that is often still applicable, but has been superseded in many areas, just as one might anticipate.
