Idu is playing with his younger brother Adu in the backyard. Idu draws a picture of fire and asks his brother to go into the house and retrieve his toy fire truck. Adu brings him the wrong toy three times, but each time Idu patiently adds more clues to the description until his younger brother gets it right. They play with the fire truck; the book ends with their mother cautioning them to call for a fire truck whenever they see a real fire.

This is a nice book to introduce the topic of fire safety. The example of a strong sibling relationship makes it a good choice for families with older and younger siblings. Illustrations are colorful and lovely, though I am not sure I understand why the skin tones appear gray. Book is recommended especially for toddlers and preschoolers. Parents please note there are only seven pages to the story.

This little book has wonderful illustrations and is short enough to hold the attention of a small child. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read to small children.
This story is a cute way to teach children about fire trucks.
In the story the older brother Idu teaches the younger brother Adu how to recognize a fire truck by giving him only 1 more detail at a time until he finds it.
This was a very short story but the illustration are spread across 2 pages and very colorful.
I rated it 4 out of 5 stars.
And would recommend it to any parent looking for a short story or anything about a fire truck.
This book was delightful. It's the kind of book I'd want my future child to read.
My kids loved the story and the illustrations. We liked how the details of the fire truck were built up, bit by bit. Illustrations were very detailed and very good.

Please keep the series going and use a similar approach to explain things, ideas and thoughts to kids in different age groups.

A very simple, sweet, and fun book that's perfect for the age group.
The detailed illustrations will be fun for kids, too. Without giving away too, there's quite a lot to look at and children will most likely be more interested than just the story. And the message about safety is a nice touch as well.
Idu and Adu are two brothers playing together. One brother tells the other to get a firetruck. This begins a process of the younger brother bringing every toy but the elusive fire truck. With each mistake, the older boy mentions one more thing to describe the firetruck. Charming with quaint illustrations, this is a fun book to read to children. It opens the door to a lot of conversation of what the little boy is not looking for.
I love the simple language of description used by Sandhya Acharya. This is a perfect book for very young children learning to build on their language and vocabulary. Kindergarten,TK or preschool teachers might want to use this book when it is time to talk about the color red or when the firefighters visit the school. The illustrations are perfect. They are not too busy and at the same time they give the book an enticing element. First graders beginning to read might also enjoy this book. Beautiful book, Sandhya Acharya. I recommend this book.
